So two years ago, we got a chance to create a 'demo' for a shot at doing the next Aliens vs. Predator game. We decided to go with the Alien for the demo. This is a screenshot from the demo. I created the alien model, we forced our Mormon animator to watch all 3 films so he could see the Alien in motion. He did not like it, but he got the motion down great in the end.

We started the demo with a cut scene, slowly crawling through the corridors until you run into the alien himself, then the camera swings around back and you take control of his movements and actions. Needless to say, the demo game out great but we did not get the contract.

We did not have enough inside contacts at Fox to get the contract which is a bummer. Always wanted to work on Alien. Anyway, demo was fun. We (3 artists and 4 programmers) finished the demo in under six days from start to finish working 48 hours a day. It took me three days to complete the Alien model & rig him. Here he is, pausing before rounding the next corner. This demo was runnning on a P2 700 with a Geforce 2 card. We squeezed a bunch from that hardware.
